Police to clamp down on youth disorder after incidents in nature spots

Police in Wishaw are aiming to clamp down on any incidents of youth disorder in the coming days.

Last weekend, officers from the community policing team dealt with disorder involving large groups of teenagers around Cambusnethan Priory and Carbarns woods.

They also took pictures to highlight some of the destruction caused by the young yobs.

Officers will be carrying out directed patrols in these areas over the weekend in a bid to curb any anti-social behaviour.

The stepping up of patrols in Wishaw comes days after cops blasted a group of teenage vandals for wrecking a popular park in Shotts.

Officers confirmed they were investigating damage to wooden benches, bird houses and stonework at Shotts Nature Park that occurred last weekend.
