Police thank family who went to aid of car crash victims on Christmas Day in Weston-super-Mare

Police have said a ‘heartfelt’ thank you to a family who spent their Christmas Day helping a driver whose car had flipped onto its roof.

The family called police after stumbling on the scene of an accident involving two cars at Clarence Road North, Weston-super-Mare at around 3pm on December 25.

The accident had left one of the cars on its roof.

The family swung into action and while the mum called 999, the dad smashed the car window, with their nine year-old daughter running between the two and giving information to her mum to pass to the emergency services.

No one was trapped in either vehicles and no one was hurt.

In their message, Avon and Somerset police said: “We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to an amazing family who spend their Christmas Day trying to help someone in need.

“We received a call from a woman reporting that a car had flipped and landed on its roof in Clarence Road North , Weston-super-Mare, at 3pm on December 25.”
