A man has been arrested after a man was found bleeding in the road in Oldham.
Police were called to reports of a man seen to be bleeding on Oldham Road, in Failsworth, at around 4pm on Tuesday, June 2.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was found suffering with injuries to his hand and face.
He was taken to hospital for treatment. A police spokesman said his injuries are not thought to be serious.
Officers later arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody for questioning.
Police tape could be seen in place along Oldham Road on Tuesday afternoon.
There was also another police scene on nearby Woodland Street.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "A man is in custody following an assault in Oldham.
"At around 4pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 police were called to Oldham Road, Failsworth following a report of concern for the welfare of a man seen to be bleeding.
"Emergency services attended and a man in his 60s was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries to his hand and face.
"Officers later arrested a man aged 31 on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in custody for questioning.
"The incident is being treated as isolated and there is no threat to the wider community."
