Police tape off Manchester street after 'masked men burst into a house'

A street in Gorton has been cordoned off following a police incident.

A section of Azalea Avenue was taped off on Sunday morning.

Police officers and vehicles were at the scene.

Officers appeared to be conducting house-to-house inquiries.

Pictures from the scene showed a section of the street was cordoned off on Sunday morning, with two police cars and police officers inside the cordon.

One resident has told the M.E.N. that two cars and a van turned up on the street at about 11pm yesterday and that the masked occupants then burst through a door to one of the houses on the terraced street.

They are said to have taken items from the house and fled.

The M.E.N. has asked Greater Manchester Police for a comment.
