Police tape off house in St Michael's Lane, Headingley, as man attacked

A man has been injured during an early morning attack in Headingley.

Police are currently outside a house in St Michael's Lane, with it being taped off by officers earlier today.

West Yorkshire Police were called to St Michael's Lane near Headingley Stadium shortly after 7.30am following reports of a man being assaulted.

He suffered minor injuries and police have launched an investigation.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the attack and are asked to call police on 101.

In a statement the force said: "Police were called to an address on St Michael’s Lane, Headingley at 0733am today (Saturday 17 April) after reports of a male having been assaulted.

"The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.

"Any witnesses to the incident are asked to call police on 101 quoting log 363 of today."
