Police tape off Edinburgh street after man found seriously injured

Police are investigating after a man was found injured in an Edinburgh street on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to Learmonth Terrace , just off Queensferry Road, at 9.50am today after reports that a person was laying on the pavement seriously hurt.

Several police vehicles attended and the area was cordoned off before the casualty was placed on a stretcher and rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Police have since been going door to door in order to ascertain the circumstances.

At least seven police vehicles and two ambulances were in attendance, and police tape was put up in the surrounding area to allow officers to investigate.

A number of people reported seeing multiple emergency services vehicles in the area, close to Dean Park Crescent.

A relative of one local resident, Rebecca Brass tweeted: “What’s happening at Learmonth terrace? My mums view this morning as well as police at her door asking for camera Footage!!”

Alistair Morton, also on Twitter, said: ‘Street sealed off at top of dean park crescent and learmonth terrace with about 9 police cars in attendance.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended Learmonth Terrace at 9.50am after a man was found injured. He has been taken to hospital and enquiries are currently ongoing.”
