Police tape off area after man stabbed in neck

Police have arrested a man after an early-hours stabbing in Downend.

Officers were called to Downend Road after an assault at about 2.30am today (October 4).

The victim suffered stabbing injuries to his neck and arm, which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains.

The suspect was arrested at about 3.30am and remains in police custody.

Police have cordoned off an area in front of a block of flats on Downend Road.

Officers' enquiries into the incident are continuing.
