Merseyside road police clocked a speeding motorist heading up the M57 northbound at an alleged 100mph on Friday night (August 20).
Officers spotted that the motorist was driving at 100mph for more than a kilometre - 30mph in excess of the national speed limit. Police then tailed the car and stopped it.

Officers said the driver has now been spoken to and reported for the offence.
Merseyside's Roads Policing Unit tweeted at 1.30am: "Vehicle observed travelling at a constant 100mph northbound on the M57 for over a kilometre with Police vehicle following behind. Vehicle stopped and driver reported."
