Police descended on a Liverpool street after reports of a shooting last night.
Residents living in Norris Green, contacted the ECHO on Monday after a number of police cars were seen patrolling the area.
One resident described hearing gun shots in the area shortly before 11pm.
Merseyside Police confirmed that the force had received a report of loud bangs being heard on Stalisfield Avenue, at around 10.30pm.
However, the nature of the incident is currently unclear.
A police spokesperson told the ECHO: "A search of the area was carried out but nothing was found."
They said police cars were patrolling the area shortly after the incident, while others were parked up on the roadside.
