A man was arrested and a firearm seized after a major police response in Litherland this afternoon.
The force was called out around 1pm after the alarm was raised regarding a man being spotted with a suspected firearm.
Reports came in of five squad cars and a police chopper swarming to Vincent Road in Litherland.
After officers arrived and an extensive search was carried out of the surrounding area, a man was arrested and a BB gun was recovered.
There are no reports of anyone being injured or any damage being caused and the incident has now been stood down.
