Police swooped on a road in Fallowfield this afternoon following reports of a stabbing in a park.
The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries following the attack in Alexandra Park, GMP said.
One suspect was arrested.
Officers reassured people that the incident posed no risk to the wider public after residents spotted a 'large police presence' on Platt Lane.
GMP Fallowfield, Withington, Levenshulme and Burnage posted about the incident on Facebook.
The status, put up at 4pm, said: "For those of you concerned about the large police presence around Platt Lane Fallowfield a short while ago…
"This afternoon there was a reported stabbing in Alexandra Park. The victim is currently in hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.
"One offender has been arrested, and it is not believed that there will be further impact on the wider community."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 1785 of October 17.
