Police swoop on popular pub on 'Fizz Friday' after man is 'aggressive' with door staff

Police were called to a popular pub in Sale after reports a man was being aggressive to door staff.

Officers swooped on the Little B on Marsland Road just after 11pm on Friday.

Eye-witnesses reported several police cars and vans outside the pub, a long-standing Sale institution.

Police spoke to the man but did not arrest him, instead driving him home.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Friday nights are billed as 'Fizz Friday' on the pub's Facebook page, with bottles of prosecco priced at £13 each.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at around 11.05pm on Saturday 4 September to a report of a man being aggressive with door staff at a pub on Marsland Road, Sale.

"Officers attended and spoke to all involved before driving the man home.

"No arrests made."

The management of the pub declined to comment when called by the M.E.N.
