Police swoop on large gathering in high rise flats in Aberdeen

Police were called to break up a large gathering in a high rise block of flats in Aberdeen.

Witnesses described seeing officers take at least nine people away in handcuffs after the incident on Wednesday night.

At one stage four police cars and a riot van were in attendance at the Linksfield Court multis.

Locals described the chaos online.

One witness wrote: “Saw few people yesterday before 4pm having too much fun there, very wide opened windows, loud and behaving badly.”

While another said: “Wonder if all the people are in the one house and this is due to social distancing / lockdown issues.”

A police spokesman said: “Around 10.50pm on Wednesday, 17 June, police were called to a report of a disturbance at Linksfield Court, Aberdeen.

"Enquiries are ongoing into this incident.”
