Police swooped on a wooded area in Hamilton town centre yesterday, closing off the entire surrounding area whilst they carried out an investigation.
Images supplied to the Daily Record showed officers in attendance, with a large cordon in place and Cadzow Street closed and guarded.
Police tape also blocked off the road which runs near urban green space area Cadzow Glen.
It is understood that Cadzow Street remains closed this morning (Monday).
Investigations were ongoing throughout the day with emergency services still in attendance late into the night.
It is still unknown the exact circumstances surrounding the huge police presence or if it is linked to missing teen Amber Niven who was last seen in that area at around 9.55pm on Friday night.

The 16-year-old failed to return home or contact worried loved ones and was reported missing to police.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket with a fur hood, light grey jogging bottoms and white trainers.

The teen is described as being around 5ft 5in tall, of a medium build and has long, strawberry blonde hair.
Police Scotland said yesterday that officers were in attendance at Cadzow glen Hamilton, with enquiries ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live this morning: "Officers are currently in attendance in Cadzow Glen, Hamilton in connection with an ongoing police investigation."
