Police swoop on Kirkcaldy street and seal off houses amid ongoing incident

A man has been hospitalised after an attack in a street in Kirkcaldy.

The 22-year-old man was injured after the alarm was raised over an assault around 3pm this afternoon.

Cops swarmed Wilson Avenue in the town and sealed off the street.

Police cars and a van were spotted blocking off an area of the residential street.

Officers were seen stationed at the side of the road where tape had been used to seal off a row of houses.

The nature of the incident remains unclear at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of an assault around 3pm on Sunday, 12 July, 2020 in Wilson Avenue, Kirkcaldy.

“A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
