Police swarmed a Merseyside street after reports of a man 'behaving erratically'.
Officers were called to Ashtons Green Drive in St Helens this morning at around 8am, after witnesses reported the man throwing items from a window and making threats. The street quickly filled with police as onlookers took pictures.
During the incident, damage was caused to the property and to a police vehicle. A 34-year-old was arrested following a standoff with officers, on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and criminal damage to a police vehicle.

Police remained in the area while further enquiries were carried out. A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We have arrested a man following an incident in Parr this morning, Monday 4 April. At around 8am, we received a report that a man was behaving erratically at an address on Ashtons Green Drive.
"It was reported that he was throwing items out of the window and making threats. Officers attended and arrested a 34-year-old male on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and criminal damage to a police vehicle. He was taken into custody and will be questioned by police. No injuries were reported but windows of the property and a police vehicle were damaged. Police remain on Ashtons Green Drive this morning while further enquiries are carried out.
