Police swarm Glasgow's West George Street as major incident unfolds

Police and paramedics have raced to a Glasgow street today after reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Police Scotland and members of the Scottish Ambulance Service were spotted on West George Street in the city centre just before 1.30pm.

Around 20 cop cars and multiple ambulances have been spotted on the busy street close to the Park Inn Hotel in the city.

The Daily Record understands a police officer and other victims have been seriously hurt in the incident.

Paramedics were also called to the scene in Glasgow (@Milroy1717)

People have taken to social media to report a stabbing has taken place. Others have reported seeing armed police in the area.

It's understood there are fatalities and multiple victims.

The Daily Record has contacted Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service for comment.
