Police surrounded a Wetherspoons pub after reports of a 'large scale disturbance'.
Officers were called to The Raven pub on Walton Vale at around 11.30pm on Sunday night.
Witnesses reported seeing 10 police vans and cars at the scene, along with "loads of police dogs barking."
Pictures from the scene show police cars, with their blue lights on, responding to the incident.
Some police vehicles can be seen parked up on the pavement while others are parked down the road in front of the pub as people stand nearby.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.30pm last night, Sunday 9th August, to reports of a large scale disturbance at The Raven pub on Walton Vale.
"When patrols arrived all was calm and there was no disturbance.

"It is not believed anyone was injured during the incident and nobody has made a complaint."
