Police stop driver on motorway for using black bin bag to cover broken window

Police stopped a driver on the motorway for using a black bin bag to cover a broken window.

Traffic officers stopped the car on the M61 northbound carriageway near Horwich on Sunday morning.

The driver had taped a black bin bag to the front passenger window which had broken.

Police issued the driver with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) after the bag was found to be 'seriously obscuring' the driver's view.

A picture of the car was posted onto the GMP Traffic Twitter page.

Alongside the picture, an officer wrote: #ME14 stopped and prohibited this vehicle junction 6 M61 northbound for using a black bin bag to cover the front passenger window.

"Seriously obscuring view.

"TOR issued. @NWmwaypolice."
