Police still searching for 25-year-old Jordan Patterson who has been missing for 10 days

Police are continuing their search for Gateshead man Jordan Patterson, who has been missing for 10 days.

The 25-year-old, from Winlaton, was reported missing on February 1 and concerns for his welfare are growing.

Northumbria Police is working closely with Jordan's distraught family, who have pleaded with him to get in touch.

But with the region experiencing sub-zero temperatures and significant snow fall, it has only worsened the worry for his mum Sandra.

The 53-year-old said: "We just want him to make contact. We all love and miss him and we just want to know he's alright.

"Everybody is looking for him. There's a lot of people looking for him. The whole community has come out in force to look for him."

"He's still alive, it's a relief to know he's out there, that's the main thing," she added.

"After a couple of days everything was quiet and I was thinking something really bad happened.

"The big worry now is the weather."

Friends and family have been searching the local area and sharing pictures of him on social media.

And Sandra said it is encouraging that there have been a number of sightings of her beloved son in the Gateshead area.

"He was definitely seen last week," said Sandra. "He's been seen in Gateshead, Newcastle and Dunston and he's been back to Winlaton. He's moving about quite a bit."

Northumbria Police has also issued his description in a bid to help locate him.

A spokeswoman said: "We can confirm enquiries are ongoing to locate missing Winlaton man Jordan Patterson, 25, who was reported missing last Monday.

"Jordan resides in the Rooksleigh area of Winlaton, but his family have not heard from him over the last week and are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

"He is described as white, 5ft 10ins of medium build with short dark hair.

"He is known to often wear dark clothing, in particular a jacket with a skull on the back."

Jordan, or anyone who has seen him, is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 610 010221.
