Police are still keen to speak to a former Liverpool kickboxer in relation to a shooting which left a man fighting for his life, as well as a mass brawl in Liverpool city centre.
In a fresh statement shared with the ECHO, a spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "Detectives are still keen to speak to Liam Chung in relation to two serious incidents which took place in 2017."
Chung is a former semi-professional kickboxer and members of the public have been advised not to approach the trained fighter.
The shooting took place on June 19, 2017, when neighbours rushed out of their homes after a gunman opened fire at a 27-year-old man in Hartsbourne Avenue in Belle Vale.
Locals said they heard several shots ring out and some saw a man covered in blood on the floor with a head injury.
Armed police poured into the area after the tea-time shooting and while the victim was seriously injured in the incident, he later recovered.
A Nissan Note found torched in The Nook, Gateacre, could have been linked to the shooting, police said.
Police have said they are still keen to discuss the incident with Chung.
The shooting victim's family spoke of their shock after the incident, saying: “He is a genuine, loving caring lad who is very affectionate and would do anything for anyone. He has a thoughtful nature.
"We as a family are totally shocked and devastated and we would appeal for anyone within the community that has any information to please come forward to the police and do the right thing and speak up.”

The incident shocked the Belle Vale community and after the gun attack, local councillors Ruth Bennett and Helen Thompson urged people with information to speak with police.
Police are also keen to speak to Chung in relation to a mass brawl at the city centre Black-E venue which broke out after a mixed martial arts event.
There were extraordinary scenes as two groups of men fought each other on the night of March 4, 2017. Chairs were used as weapons as shocked families screamed in terror.
The violence flared after an incident during a bout between Darren Lawlor and Adam Lea.
The ECHO understands Chung was a cornerman for Darren Lawlor at the event. There is no suggestion Mr Lawlor was involved in the incident.
The appalling scenes were caught on camera and led to a number of men appearing at Liverpool Crown Court.
Six men were jailed in 2018 for their part in the violence. They were:
- Ian Joseph Lea, 28, of John Bagot Close, Everton, was jailed for 10 months after admitting affray.
- Gerard Gilboy, 30, of Maryport Close, Everton, was jailed for 12 and a half months after admitting affray.
- Travis Muat, 28, of John Bagot Close, Everton, was also jailed for 12 and a half months after admitting affray
- Ryan Gildea, 35, of Whiterock Street in Anfield, was jailed for 15 months after admitting affray.
- Ian Andrew Lea, 53, of Liverpool Road, Lydiate, was jailed for 20 months after admitting affray.
- Anthony Addison, 29, of Superior Close in Netherley, was jailed for seven and a half months after admitting affray.
A police spokesman said to the ECHO: "Detectives investigating two serious incidents are circulating details of a man who we would like to speak to. Liam Chung from Netherley may have information about an injury shooting in Hartsbourne Avenue in Childwall on Monday, June 19, 2017, in which a man in his 20s was seriously injured. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
"Detectives also want to speak to Chung in relation to an incident of violent disorder on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at an MMA event at the Black-E venue in Great George Street, Liverpool City Centre. A number of people have already been sentenced to prison in connection with this investigation. Chung is described as 5ft 10in tall, of broad build, with black hair and brown eyes. "
