Police still investigating cause of Westhoughton farm fire

Police are still investigating how a fire at a farm, earlier this month, was started.

Emergency services were scrambled to Snydale Hall Farm, in Bolton Road, Westhoughton, at around 4pm on 12 April.

No people or animals in the blaze but a storage building was completely destroyed and huge clouds of thick black smoke could be seen billowing across Bolton.

Following the incident, a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of arson, but he has since been released with no further action.

Officers said that enquiries to establish the cause of the fire are ongoing

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 5629 quoting incident number 1943 of 12/04/20.

Information can also be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
