Police still hunting gunman after suspected shooting at pub as window smashed

Police are still hunting for a gunman after a suspected shooting at a pub in Urmston on Sunday night (January 15). A window was seen smashed at the Nags Head, Lostock Road, after a suspected firearms discharge was reported.

Officers were called to the scene at around 11.30pm on Sunday, where a large cordon was put in place around the pub as investigations were carried out.

In an update, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident and that the force are still appealing for witnesses as part of ongoing enquiries.

Police said they found a window had been left damaged, which was pictured at the scene along with forensics. Tactical Aid Unit officers were also inspecting the area outside the pub.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is being urged to come forward. Police are also appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident.

Detective Inspector Matt Dixon, of GMP’s Trafford District, said on Monday: "We are keeping an open mind in relation to how the damage has been caused. There will be an increased police presence in the surrounding area as we carry out our enquiries today and I would encourage anyone who feels they have information that can assist us to please approach our officers.

"Detectives are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/ doorbell footage from this area in the moments leading up to and after this incident happened."
