Police step up Rice Lane night patrols after crime reports

Merseyside Police are calling on businesses and residents around the Rice Lane area of Liverpool to have the confidence to come forward and help them tackle nuisance crime.

Police have received complaints from the public about daylight and late night anti-social behaviour and nuisance crimes on Walton's busy main road.

Officers have been out on patrol tonight but are urging the public to contact 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 to help them tackle these serious issues head on.

Merseyside Police North tweeted: "Tonight we’ve been focussing on Rice Lane following complaints from residents & businesses reporting crime & anti-social behaviour.

"If you report issues to us, we will respond, but we need the public to have the confidence to come forward."
