Police station bomb threat sees Ayrshire streets shut down by cops

An Ayrshire street has been shut down amid claims a suspected bomb was delivered to a police station.

Cops have shut down Titchfield Street and Orchard Street in Galston after the possible historical ordnance was discovered this afternoon.

It's understood that the item was brought to the police station by concerned locals.

A heavy police presence remains in the area and a small white device can be seen outside the police station.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Titchfield Street and Orchard Street in Galston are currently closed following the discovery of what is a possible historical ordnance item.

"Police were alerted at around 1.10pm on Friday, November, 2021 and a cordon has been established while the item is assessed."
