Police statement issued after woman hit by car in Mansfield Road

A major road into Nottingham city centre has been partially closed following a crash involving a woman and a car.

Two lanes on Mansfield Road were closed following the incident, which happened just before 6am on Thursday, April 8.

Nottinghamshire Police says the woman was taken to hospital. Her injuries, however, are not thought to be serious.

Nottingham's traffic control says motorists should allow extra time for their journeys as delays are expected.

Sergeant Pete Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers remain at the scene of the collision and our inquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“We are asking anyone who saw what happened or any drivers who may have captured dash cam footage of the incident to please get in contact with us. If you have any information which could help us please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 61 of 8 April 2021, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
