Police statement following incident on A52 outside Queen's Medical Centre

A statement has been released by Nottinghamshire Police after the A52 Clifton Boulevard and Middleton Boulevard were closed due to 'concerns for someone's safety'.

The A52 was closed in both directions, while the southbound carriageway of Middleton Boulevard was closed, as police attended the incident at around 8am on Wednesday, January 27.

Traffic was diverted along Derby Road and congestion was reported leading to Lenton Abbey.

Trams and bus services were also halted for the duration.

Speaking of the incident, which has since cleared, a Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "Police were in attendance due to concerns for someone's safety.

"It has been brought to a safe conclusion."

Traffic is now free-flowing in the area and public transport services are running with delays.
