Police statement as 'masked machete gang' raid Leeds Superdrug at Crown Point Shopping Park

Police have issued a statement after three men armed with weapons raided a Superdrug store in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the shop at Crown Point Shopping Centre at 10.49am (Friday) following reports of the men entering the shop.

The suspects who were wearing dark clothing caused damage inside the shop but luckily, no one was hurt.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether property was stolen.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police immediately attended, secured the scene and started a search of the area. They remain at the scene speaking to witnesses to establish more details about the suspects.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the men leaving the scene who hasn’t yet spoken to police is urged to contact us straight away on 101, quoting log number 468 of 23/04/21."
