Police statement after heavy presence near Wilford Lane tram stop

Police have released a statement after multiple vehicles and officers were seen near a village tram stop. The heavy police presence was spotted in Wilford, next to the stop on Wilford Lane, at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, April 19.

Five police vehicles were seen parked up near the stop, with an eyewitness telling Nottinghamshire Live there were also police dogs there along with officers. Police have since confirmed they were at the scene after receiving a call about criminal damage to the tram stop.

Pictures taken at the scene show a van, along with another four police cars parked up, while officers can also be seen in the background. The tram stop lies on the boundary between Nottingham and Rushcliffe and links passengers from Clifton South to Phoenix Park.
