Police statement after emergency services called to Western Boulevard

A motorist was injured after a crash involving two cars on a major Nottingham road.

The collision, reported to police at around 5.20pm, happened in Western Boulevard.

It took place in the middle of a junction, causing delays for motorists in the city centre.

Both police cars and ambulances were spotted at the scene of the incident, which caused the road to partially blocked, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

The scene was cleared at around 5.40pm.

At the time, Nottingham Travelwise said in a tweet: "RTC. A6514 Western Boulevard / A610 Nuthall Road junction. A6514 northbound and A610 eastbound partially blocked. Vehicle in the middle of the junction."

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "The incident was reported at around 5.20pm. According to reports it involved two cars.

"The vehicles were moved at around 5.40pm. There were no arrests."
