Police statement after crash shuts Nottingham's Mansfield Road

A man has been taken to hospital after a serious crash on a main city road.

Officers were called to the collision at around 1.50pm on the A60 Mansfield road, near the junction of Huntingdon street.

They remain at the scene and one man has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Part of Mansfield Road was cordoned off and police asked drivers to avoid Fulforth Street and the end of Huntingdon Street.

The roads are expected to reopen shortly as officers work to resolve the incident and clear the scene.

Collision investigator Sarah Butler, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We were called to a collision on the A60 Mansfield road near the junction of Huntingdon street, and advised drivers to avoid the area but the road is now expected to reopen shortly.

“We are continuing to investigate the incident but would like to thank the public for being patient as we continue to investigate.

“Further updates will be given in due course.”

Some bus services have faced delays, Nottingham City Transport has said.
