A busy ring road in Mansfield was shut overnight after the emergency services responded to concerns for a man's safety.
St Peter's Way was closed in both directions.
Police were called to the scene at around 9.50pm on Monday evening, July 5.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers attended and the road was closed while police worked to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
"The road was reopened at around 11pm."
Firefighters were also called out to the incident.
