Police statement after body found in Castle Donnington

Police have issued a statement after a body was found in a town across the Nottinghamshire border. Officers found the body of a missing man in Castle Donnington yesterday afternoon, May 14.

Derbyshire Police have said they believe the body is missing man Edward Hill. They added his family had been made aware and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Derbyshire Police said: "Officers have found a body believed to be that of missing man Edward Hill in Castle Donnington yesterday afternoon (May 14). His family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them. A file is being prepared for the coroner. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal."

Officers had previously appealed after the 52-year-old went missing from his South Derbyshire home sparking a police search. Mr Hill was last seen at 11.30pm on Friday, May 6.
