Police statement after BB gun missiles were 'fired' into city centre

Two men have been charged after reports that a BB gun was fired in Nottingham city centre.

The pair are charged with using a BB air rifle to fire missiles out of a window between October 1 and October 15, 2021.

Sam Chapman, 22, and Ronalds Dzilna, 19, both of Pilcher Gate, Lace Market, Nottingham, have both been charged with the alleged offence.

They are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2022.

Sergeant James Hirst, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We take reports of firearms offences extremely seriously.

“There can be no excuse for firing any kind of weapon and we will always look to take robust action against anyone who commits such an offence.

“We encourage people to help us protect our communities by reporting any information about weapon-enabled crime to us.”
