Police stand guard outside East Kilbride property as 'injured' woman escorted from house

Police are standing guard outside a property in East Kilbride as residents report seeing an 'injured' woman being escorted from a house.

A source told the Daily Record he had witnessed a wheelchair bound woman 'wearing a neck brace' and having 'two black eyes' being removed from a house on Lyttleton, Westwood, East Kilbride this evening.

The woman, described as being in her 40's, was escorted into a police

The man said: "The woman looked in a bad way when I saw her leaving. I don't know if she had been in a fight or if something else had happened to her but she didn't look good.

"She was in a wheelchair, had two black eyes and was wearing a neck brace."

Cops are reportedly currently standing guard outside the front of the property where the woman was seen leaving from.

The source added: "It looks to me like they're protecting the scene of a crime. I think someone has died. It looks very serious."

A Police Scotland Spokesperson confirmed officers were in attendance.

They said: "We were reported to an incident in Lyttleton, East Kilbride at around 5.40pm this evening. It is an ongoing incident and officers are still in attendance."
