Police stand down search for missing East Kilbride man after body found

Police have this morning (Wednesday) confirmed a body has been found in the search for missing East Kilbride man Ryan Coleman.

The 20-year-old was last seen at the family home in Greenhills on Friday afternoon.

Police launched an appeal for information over the wherabouts of the 20-year-old after family and friends took to social media for help.

The college student’s family spoke with the News on Tuesday as they desperately scrambled for information and help about the “popular and well-liked lad”.

His distraught aunt Diane Cameron told us how the family were struggling as they waited for an update on his whereabouts.

On Tuesday night their worst fears were realised after a body was found within Langlands Moss Nature Reserve in East Kilbride.

In a Tweet on Wednesday morning, Police Scotland said: “Around 8.10 pm on Tuesday, the body of a 20-year-old man was found.

“The body is believed to be that of Ryan Coleman – his family have been made aware. There are no suspicious circumstances.”

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
