Police speak out over racist 'hate crime incident' by teenagers at Morrison's store

Police investigating reports of a hate crime at a supermarket in Mansfield Woodhouse have said 'racist incidents will not be tolerated'.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to the Morrison's store in Mansfield Woodhouse in Welbeck Road on Tuesday, January 18.

It was reported a man was the victim of hate crime after being targeted by a group of teenagers.

Police say they are now increasing their efforts at the site to stamp out this type of behaviour.

The incident was investigated by the north officers of the Safer Neighbourhood team, who say all offenders have now been identified.

Police Constable Gardiner who led the investigation, said: "Racist incidents will not be tolerated and all parties concerned will be dealt with and prosecuted.

"Efforts to target anti-social behaviour at the site are being increased and positive action will be taken in all circumstances."
