Police spark hunt after boy, 14, assaulted by two men in Ayrshire woods

Ayrshire police are appealing for information following a robbery in Kilmarnock yesterday.

A 14-year-old boy was assaulted by two men in a wooded area, known locally as The Foxes, on the footpath behind Onthank Primary School around 3.30pm.

The pair stole his black Adidas trainers and fled the scene.

The suspects are described as mid-to-late teens and were wearing dark clothing. One has a distinctive burn or birthmark on his left cheek.

Detective Constable Robert Graham, Ayrshire CID, said: "Thankfully, there have been no serious injuries as a result of this robbery, but the teenage victim has been left badly shaken.

"I would ask anyone who has any information surrounding this incident to please in touch with local officers.

"We can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting reference 1953 of Friday, January 29."
