Police slap house with three-month closure order amid 'anti-social behaviour' problems

Police and the council have hit a house with a three-month closure order through the summer amid concerns around 'anti-social behaviour'.

The home, in Newbury Avenue in Sale, was slapped with the order on Thursday, May 13, and anyone not already cleared with officials will be banned from going inside until August 12.

The court order was granted by Manchester Magistrates Court, under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Disorder Act 2014.

The only people that will now be allowed into the residential address include the resident themselves, named individuals and support workers.

Inspector Neil Humphreys from GMP’s Trafford Central district said “We will continue to work with partner agencies to take robust action to deal with anti social behaviour.

"We have an array of court orders that can be utilised to target specific individuals and/or locations”.

“I would urge anyone who is a victim of anti social behaviour to continue to report to us via our live chat/online reporting at https://crowd.in/oLGlyN or call 101," continued the inspector.

"Always call 999 in an emergency. If you prefer to report anonymously, please contact the independent charity, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”

“Actions speak louder than words and I hope that the court order secured yesterday sends a clear message to all residents that we listen and take appropriate action through partnership working.”
