Police shut off bridge over M602 after woman falls from it - she wasn't seriously hurt

The emergency services responded following reports that a woman fell from a motorway bridge in Salford.

One lane of the M602 was closed where Derby Road crosses it in Eccles following the incident just before 9.23pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Police and paramedics found one woman at the scene who had suffered 'no serious injuries'.

An investigation has now been launched.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to the M602/ Derby Road area at 21:23 hours on Monday 31 August 2020 to reports of a female having fallen from the bridge.

"Motorway officers and North West Ambulance Service are in attendance. The female has sustained no serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police on 101 quoting log number 3042 31.08.2020 or details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
