Parts of the M621 in both directions were shut after a woman was seen on the “wrong side of the railings” on a Leeds bridge.
Police were called to reports of a female on the wrong side of railings on a footbridge over the M621 near to Tunstall Road, in Beeston, at 8.30am this morning.
A road closure was put in place while emergency services responded, and the woman was bought to safety shortly before 9.30am.
The road has now reopened.

West Yorkshire Police said: "At 8.30am today, police were called to reports of a female on the wrong side of railings on a footbridge over the M621 near to Tunstall Road, Leeds.
"A road closure was put in place while emergency services responded.
"The female was brought to safety shortly before 9.30am and the road reopened."
According to traffic management system Inrix, the motorway was closed in both directions between Junction 3 (A653) and Junction 5 (Tunstall Road).
The closure caused huge queues during rush hour traffic.
It affected traffic heading in and out of Leeds, with delays on the carriageway for about an hour.
