A section of a busy Scots road has been closed by police following a horror smash that reportedly left one man injured.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the A82 between Dumbarton and Alexandria at around 2pm on Sunday.
The A82 is closed both in directions between A811 Stoneymollan roundabout and A812 Renton Road with 'long queues and heavy congestion'.
It is understood that one man has been injured following the 'serious' road crash.
Traffic Scotland said police were were diverting traffic off the main carriageway and warned of extensive delays - with the road expected to remain closed for several hours.
Heavy traffic has built up in the surrounding area with congestion on alternative routes through Balloch and Alexandria.
Traffic Scotland tweeted: "A82 remains closed both directions between A811 Stoneymollan rbt and A812 Renton Road following an RTC.
"Please allow for delays, particularly S/B, and heavy congestion on alternative routes through Balloch and Alexandria."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are currently dealing with a serious road crash on the A82 between Dumbarton and Alexandria. There are reports of one man being injured.
"Emergency services remain on the scene and the A82 is currently closed."
