Officers are investigating after vandals caused "significant damage" to a leisure centre in Durham city.
Durham City Police shared photos of the damage caused to the 3D pitch area at Meadowfield Leisure Centre earlier this week.
The photos show large sections of fencing cut away leaving huge holes in the fence while officers said there was also littering.

Police subsequently launched an investigation to trace those responsible for the damage and officers are working to improve security measures.
A spokesperson for Durham City Police said: "We have been made aware of significant damage that has been caused to the 3D pitch area at Meadowfield Leisure Centre.
"Officers from Framwellgate Moor and Meadowfield Neighbourhood Policing Team have been liaising with the Leisure Centre staff, Councillor Elmer and the County Council regarding the damage and littering being caused.
"We would like to remind people that anyone caught causing criminal damage will be dealt with accordingly and may face significant fines/prosecution.
"Please remember if you are using this facility unauthorised you are in fact trespassing on private property.
"Our neighbourhood team will continue to work alongside our partner agencies to improve the security measures and to identify those who have caused the damage."
