A police sergeant was left shocked by a kind gesture at a McDonalds drive thru.
Sergeant Pope from Merseyside Police and his colleague had been working on a public duty order from around 6am on Tuesday, October 12 when at around 10am they were able to grab some food.
The pair headed to a McDonald's drive thru to get some breakfast after walking 8,000 steps in the rain.

After ordering their food and pulling up to the first window to pay the sergeant was shocked after the cashier told him the car in front had paid for their meals.
Sgt Pope, who has worked for Merseyside Police since 1999, shared the story on Twitter and thanked the people for 'a lovely treat'.
He said: "Today I was working a public order duty, in at 6am. Completed 8,000 steps in the rain by 10am when I got chance to grab a McDonald’s drive thru with my colleague.
"We went to pay but the car in front had paid for our breakfast, thank you so much. A lovely treat much appreciated."
