Police send two home after they travelled from England to Gower to surf

Police issued two people with warnings after they travelled from England to Gower to go surfing.

Officers on patrol at Langland and Caswell discovered the pair at the former location, who had made the journey from over the border to enjoy the surf and sunny weather on Saturday, May 23.

It is just the latest example of people travelling from England to Wales, after the UK government eased lockdown restrictions in England, while the Welsh Goverment continues to ask people to stay at home and remain in their local area to exercise.

They include a man arrested after making an almost 200-mile non-essential journey from the east coast of England to North Wales.

His Ford Focus was spotted parked on top of a pile of rubble overlooking Glyn Ceiriog in Wrexham.

Police also gave fixed penalty notices to three members of an extended family who had travelled from Worcester and Redditch to Porthcawl on Monday.

In addition, a mother from the Midlands is being investigated by North Wales Police after posting “racist and abusive” messages on social media after she was told to leave Barmouth beach by officers.

And three men, aged between 18 and 25, were found camping on the side of Moel Farmau in the Clwydian Range on Sunday and were reported for breaching lockdown restrictions.
