Police seized three samurai swords from someone at Piccadilly station - including one more than 3ft long

Police seized three samurai-style swords from someone at Piccadilly station -  including one more than 3ft long.

The shocking find was made by British Transport Police officers on patrol at the station this morning.

The swords appear to be a set - each has a black handle and a nasty-looking serrated edge.

They range in length from roughly 12ins to 3ft.

British Transport Police tweeted a picture of the blades alongside the message: "These swords have been seized from a male stopped during a #ProjectServator deployment at @NetworkRailMan this morning.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Remember, you are our eyes and ears, so report any suspicious incidents to us by text to 61016 Together we've got it covered."

Project servator is an ongoing BTP operation aimed at cracking down on crime on the train network.

It involves plains-clothes and uniformed officers turning up unannounced at stations to carry out patrols.
