Fake perfumes being sold as ‘genuine’ on Market Street have been seized by city centre police in a crackdown on counterfeit goods.
The items seized included designer perfumes by Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel, as well as Apple Watches and AirPods.
Sharing their find on Facebook, they said the goods totalled over £3000.

They added that fake items, such as perfumes, are not tested to the same standards and can contain traces of urine.
In the post, Greater Manchester Police in the city centre said: “We've been out with partners from Manchester City Council, where we have seized over £3000 worth of fake goods being sold as genuine on Market Street, for a fraction of the real price.
“Fake goods can be dangerous, they are not tested to the same standards and fake perfume can contain urine. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. #Fakegoods #Fake”
