Police seize weapons and large amount of cannabis from vehicle

Northumbria Police's Road Safety Unit seized a significant amount of cannabis and weapons (pictured below) on Sunday night (October 31) from a vehicle that had initially failed to stop for officers.

Addressing its Twitter followers, the Unit said: "Our streets are a safer place after C-Rota Motor Patrols seized a large amount of cannabis and weapons from a vehicle which initially failed to stop for them.

"The Operations team included Motor Patrols, Dog Section & NPAS (National Police Air Service).

"A great result from fantastic teamwork."

People are reminded to dial 999 in an emergency, or otherwise contact police on the 101 non-emergency number.
