Police seize huge amount of cannabis in raid at suburban restaurant

Police seized a large amount of cannabis following a raid at a restaurant.

Officers swooped on the premises in Urmston on Tuesday afternoon after being alerted to 'suspicious activity' at the eatery.

Inside, they found a 'large haul of cannabis' which they said had been 'harvested' there.

Greater Manchester Police revealed brief details of the incident on its Trafford North Facebook page, joking that it would be leaving a one star review on TripAdvisor.

It published a picture of the cannabis which had been seized.

The force made no mention of any arrests although the investigation is 'ongoing'.

It did not name the restaurant concerned.

The post read: "Earlier this afternoon the #TraffordWestArea team at Urmston were notified about suspicious activity taking place at a restaurant.

"Upon arrival a large haul of cannabis was recovered after being harvested inside the building.

"The investigation is ongoing & we will be sure to leave a 1 star review on Trip Advisor. #SaferUrmston."
