Police seize Audi from new owner driving it for first time

An uninsured motorist's first drive in his new Audi ended with his car being seized by Merseyside Police.

The driver had also failed to renew his expired licence, having originally been stopped by officers for speeding.

It was then discovered that the friend who had accompanied him to pick up the vehicle had no tax or MOT on his car either.

The incident was recounted on the official Twitter page of Merseyside Police's Roads Policing Unit @MerPolTraffic in a post, with an accompanying photograph, at 1.19am in the early hours of this morning.

It read: "This Audi was stopped for speeding. It was the driver's maiden voyage in his new car. Unfortunately he didn't think to insure it or renew his expired licence. His friend who came (with) him to pick (it) up didn't think to tax or MOT his car either.

"All were reported and the Audi was seized."
